Meet Gandalf! Gandalf’s incredible journey began when we learned of a sad and lonely donkey found wandering a neighborhood, often seen on a busy street in a neighboring town. His story tugged at our hearts, and we knew we had to do something to change his life.

The timing was serendipitous, as we had recently bid farewell to our dear donkey friend, JR, leaving his best friend, Oyte, in desperate need of a new companion. It felt like fate, or something equally profound, guiding us to meet Gandalf. With a trailer filled with treats and hearts full of hope, we set out to bring Gandalf into our sanctuary.

When we first met Gandalf, he was understandably scared and apprehensive. His early experiences had left him wary of humans, but with time, patience, kindness, and unwavering care, he began to realize that his new home and his new family were everything he had ever dreamed of as a lonely donkey.

Today, Gandalf is a testament to the transformative power of love and compassion. He can be found nuzzling his soft nose under arms, seeking hugs and warmth from everyone he meets. He leans in for back scratches, eager to accept the affection that has become a part of his daily life.
